High Hopes Challenge #192

It's Snowing
is our new challenge at High Hopes - use your High Hopes snowmen or add snow to an image to play along and win a new HH stamp of your choice :)

My image is Snowy's Cup - coloured with copics and lots of glitter added for some bling.  Holly Jolly sentiment.  I rediscovered some old goodies when I was on the hunt for some missing stash ... my wee silver candy cane charm and this fabulous hairy twine (there's a bit of sparkle on it but doesn't really show up in pic)

Scary Dude in the Moon!

It's the usual last minute rush as usual, though this is probably my last Halloween card as I've kinda run out of time!  I love the goofy expression on the bats faces .... they obviously haven't seen the dude in the moon LOL

This one uses the bats, eyes and stars from 'Bump in the Night' from the Alley Way Stamps.  I masked off my moon and used purple chalk for my sky.  My tree is a cutting plate from Taylored Expressions - it was a tad too big for my needs so it got a bit of a pruning.  Wee bats are semi popped up .... dimensionals added to their wings and then their bodies stuck down flat.  But no twine / bling / glitter .... GASP!!

Alex's Halloween card

This card is for my wee niece ... she's only 3 so I thought I'd make her a cute one rather than a scary one with bats and monsters!!

My image is Wagon Full of Blessings from High Hopes ... I thought it looked like my niece and nephew!  Coloured with pencils and lots of glitter added to the pumpkin. Ric Rac dies from Taylored Expressions.

Baby Ellie

I've been asked to make an extra special baby card that is going to be framed (no pressure then!) and thought I'd have a trial run on a baby card to see if Mr Mojo is going to co-operate!

My image is from Wild Rose Studio - coloured with pencils.  My DP is from a stack maybe 4 or 5 years old that I've never managed to use and gets shoved to the back of my crafty cupboard.  But I'm determined to make a dent in it!

BOO!

Hee, I'm so lovin these scary images from The Alley Way Stamps.
I 'sponged' my sky using a bit of kitchen roll and my ink pad, as my distressing sponge thingy has mysteriously disappeared .. it's probably with my ruler as it's never turned up either.  Ever feel like you're loosing the plot???
Hand doodled my webs (as if you couldn't guess LOL) and my wee bugs too.

Birthday Brutus

Inspiration for this card came from Marion's biride card at the Muse Challenge.

I've used Brutus from High Hopes and a Penny Black sentiment.  Coloured with pencils, paper pieced his collar, glossed his nose and added some sparkle to his medallion.

We had a gorgeous Autumnal morning ... it rained solid all day yesterday and again this afternoon, so it was a nice wee break!  Ruby-doo loves to get out to our local park to chase the ducks, bad dog!  Bit of a crappy pic, taken by Greggy ... sometimes I wonder how he manages to take some many photos of me out of focus (or maybe it's intentional haha)

And how's this for a fabulous sunset ....

A Purrfect card?

Nope, it's far from perfect! I was only half paying attention (too busy watching Strictly Come Dancing!) and managed to stick my base layer down the wrong way ... my wee fishies and paw prints are now all upside down.  I'd also planned to colour my kitty with my coral marker, but my copics conspired against me, so he's ended up red!

High Hopes Challenge #190

We're saying Thank You as our challenge this week at High Hopes, play along with your High Hopes stamps to win a new one of your choice!

My image is an oldie, Tommy's Fall Fun - isn't he fun, I remember doing this as a child, and still love to kick my way through crispy dry leaves... not so much fun though when they're wet, slippery and slimy LOL!

Sick Kitty

Boo Hoo, the pixies have been in and hidden my stash again. Grrr.  One minute I was using my ruler that I use to keep my layers straight, next minute? ... Gone!  I've looked high and low and it's nowhere to be found :(

I've had this Whipper Snapper stamp for years, and still love to get it out now and then.  Coloured with pencils and paper pieced his wee bandage.  Found this button in my stash, isn't it fab when you find one that matches perfectly ... hee, it's the little things in life eh?!

Spotty Butterfly

Another wee card for my stash.  I was inspired by the coloured triangles in the photo from The Alley Way Stamps challenge - I've had this DP in my stash forever, and just never felt the inclination to use it!  I also kept the bright colour theme and lots of white, but ended up going yellow rather than the pink/orange colour in the pic.

Get well Bunny

I seem to have very few cards in my stash at the minute ... a combination of having no energy and no mojo = no inspiration!  I treated myself to a wee Saturday afternoon snooze (felt very naughty, especially with it being a nice crisp autumn day!) and then got stuck in to my stamping.

My wee bunny is from Lili of the Valley, coloured with pencils.  Dienamics peek a boo dots die - I used some of the punch outs as some card candy in the corner.

Hey There Froggy!

Sorry, another quickie post from me ... Sleepy Hollow has just started on telly and it's looking good so far!

I've used a much unloved Spellbinders die and an oldie image from Nellie Snellen - coloured with copics.  Clear gloss and glitter added to her wings and the froggy's flower.

High Hopes challenge #189

Our new challenge this week at High Hopes is...
make a box.
Not something I normally make, so I turned to Splitcoaststampers and tried my hand at a little milk carton box.  I'm quite pleased with how it turned out - though a decent scoring board would have made it much easier than trying to match up dimensions on my ancient wooden scoring board!  I've temporarily closed my carton with a paperclip so you can see the shape, but didn't want to seal it properly until I'd something to put in it!!

My image is Motorin' By Santa - coloured with pencils and lots of glitter added to the fur on his hat/jacket/trousers.

ETA - just found this joke that I had to share ...
What type of motorbike does Santa drive?
A Holly Davidson
Hahahahaha!  Def one for the Christmas Cracker!

October Calendar

I just noticed today that my calendar on my desk in work was still on July.  Ha!  I think I'm in denial that our lovely summer's over!

Just a quickie post, Doc Martin's on the telly, a nice wee Monday evening programme.  As opposed to Downton Abbey, usually a lovely Sunday evening programme, but a bit traumatic last night.  I won't spoil it if you haven't seen it, but O-M-G!!!!!

CAS Good Luck

I had some snippets of DP that I almost threw in the bin, but then decided to have a play instead!  I've used my new Memory Box border die and the plane is from Alley Way Stamps - I paper pieced the body of the plane, added some glitter to the propellor, and popped up on dimensionals.  I also added some glitter to the windows of the wee houses.

A Starry Monster

It usually takes me ages to make a card, but this one came together in no time at all... it's about time Mr Mojo started co-operating!!

I've used the monster from Paper Smooches 'Falling for You' - paper pieced his body and then cut out extra eyes and a tooth. The sentiment is actually a mix of 3 different stamp sets!  Die-namics Instaframe.  Couple of the die cut stars are popped up on dimensionals.   I've also jumped on the sequins bandwagon and am lovin them!

Happy World Cardmaking Day!

I squeezed a bit of time into my day to play along with the World Card Making Day.
My card uses these slightly mad looking birdies from The Alley Way stamps - paper pieced their bodies and then cut out another eye and beak and coloured it with my promarkers.  Sentiment from Paper Smooches.

CAS Get Well

This should have been a 10-minute card, except the pixies had hidden my background text stamp and it ended up taking over an hour hahaha

Based on Cindy's card over at the Muse Challenge - I used my new Memory Box die cut as the floral image and a super-old embossing folder.  Couple of touches of bling to finish.

Sorry ... quick post from me tonight - it's late already and some of us need more beauty sleep than we used to LOL

High Hopes Challenge #188

Wow, can you believe it's October already, where has this year gone?!!
Our new challenge at High Hopes this week is a sketch, perfect if you're a sketch junkie like me!
Pop over to High Hopes blog for lots of inspiration and then play along with your High Hopes stamps to win a new one of your choice.

I was a bit 'creative' with Anna's sketch ... sorry Anna!!!  For the one of the back panels I used my Memory Box snowflake die, and the other side is a couple of die cut trees (think these were Marianne designs).  My images are Snow Couple Block and Sm. Open Holly - coloured with copics and glitter added to Mrs Snowy's hat.
