Xmas Card #01

Still crafting in the dark here, despite the extra hour ;)
Spent some of today painting my bathroom, and then another while trying to get gloss out of my hair.  Ha!

I said last year that I'd not be stressing about Christmas cards this year and I'd be looking for a CAS design, so this is my first effort!

These lovely snowflakes are Paper Smooches dies that I hadn't got round to using before now, also PS sentiment - sentiment panel is popped up on dimensionals and a bit of bling added to the snowflake centres.  Easy peasy!!

Craaaazeeee Bunny

No craic from me tonight.  Spent my day doing the food shopping and cleaning and tidying.  And squeezed in a wee bit of crafty time in between my cleaning ... usually when I do this I get no further and the cleaning never gets finished, so I'm feeling rather pleased with myself to have a card and a clean tidy house tonight!!

My cards are usually quite girly, so I was determined to make an Easter card that would be OK for my nephew.

I've used lots of Paper Smooches goodies on this card ... the crazy bunny, alpha set and a couple of die cuts from the scrapbooking set.  And I love how it turned out :)

Flutter by, Butterfly

Where has this year gone already?!  Can't believe our clocks jump forward tomorrow night, but I'm looking forward to the bright evenings.  Maybe I'll get my crafting done in daylight and get some decent pics!  I'd treated myself to a wee day off work today, but spent quite a lot of it on my knees painting skirting boards (ouch, poor sore knees!)  Looking good though ... except need to do the rest of the house now.  Isn't it always the way!

My card uses this cute butterfly from The Alley Way Stamps - paper pieced his middle and frame and butterfly popped up on dimensionals.  Butterfly charm from stash.

Lucy's Lambs

Time for a new challenge at High Hopes and this week it's
Spring
Play along with your High Hopes stamps to win a new one of your choice.

I'm lucky that my bus to work passes lots of farming fields, so I'm always on the lookout this time of year for all the baby animals and the little lambs are especially adorable! Mind you, there's many a day when my nose is buried in a book and I see and hear nothing the entire journey!

My card uses Lucy's Lambs - coloured with pencils.  Apologies for grey splodges on image ... I still haven't got my camera sorted.  Turns out it would cost almost as much to fix it as it would be to buy a new one!

Mother's Day

So this is Mum's Mother's Day card :)  It took aaaages to make as I'd a few sections on the card that just looked empty and needed 'something'.  So I'd flowers on and off and on again, butterflies moved about the card, different sentiments stamped, mounted and discarded, and so it went on!! Ah well, I like how it turned out in the end!

Image from Tiddly Inks; sentiment from Lili of the Valley.  I've used my copics for a change as I couldn't find any pencils with vaguely the same tone as my fence.  Martha Stewart butterfly punch; CC Designs fence die.
I glittered up my butterflies and flowers with an old bottle of Smooch I rediscovered in my stash.

New PS goodies!

My postie was a very good boy this morning and didn't bring me any nasty bills and delivered my new Paper Smooches goodies instead - I won a $50 shopping spree a couple of weeks back :)

This was one of my purchases ... Hooties.  I know I'm a bit late joining the owl trend, but hey, better late than never!

I've paper pieced my wee owl, popped his feet up on dimensionals, clear gloss to his eyes, and orange stickles to his feet and beak.  I used some clear bling as wee thought bubbles and popped my cloud (dienamics) up on dimensionals too.

Paper Smooches SPARKS - anything goes
Sweet Stampin' - doodles (my doodled border)
Cuttlebug Mania - dotty (I used my Cuttlebug to cut my cloud die)
Tuesday Throwdown #187 - tic-tac-toe - I used bling / paper piecing / CAS

Friends Fur-Ever

First day of Spring today ... allegedly!  It's a brrrrr chilly wind out there and a touch of snow forecast for tomorrow.  So glad I haven't put my winter woolies away yet ;)

This is just a wee quickie card.  I'm determined to use up some oldie stash - I've had some sheets of doggy-themed vellum for such a long time and have never used  any of them!  I attached this one with a couple of staples, decoupaged my Paper Smooches kitty and added a bit of silver bling.

She's back!

I found this little lady over the weekend ... I couldn't tell you how long she was on the missing list for!  And I'm not even quite sure where I found her ... she just kinda appeared!!!

Coloured with pencils and clear gloss added to the empty place, and splattered red watercolour to BG.  LOVE these red enamel dots, I'll have to get some more next time I go shopping .... which may not be for some time!! Ha.

Huffy cat

No, I haven't had one of those days ... just a busy one painting.  My muscles are all objecting now though and my shins are all bruised where I lean too heavy against the step ladder!  But at least that's another job ticked off the list :)

I found this kitty stamp in my stash ... it's from quite a few years ago!  Coloured with pencils, and then I used pink and grey watercolour pencils to splatter the background (after doodling my border and then masking off the square).  I'm loving this splatter technique .. I find it difficult to make a pure CAS card with lots of white space, so adding a wee touch of colour like this is just perfect for me :)

Grrrrrr Scary Bear

Another of my new DP pads :)  It immediately made me think of this bear in one of my old Stampin' Up sets.  Isn't he hilarious!
I thought he might like to go camping too, so I added his own sleeping bag Hahaha. Who's for a bear hug?

We'd another lovely dry day today ... lots of washing out on the line, dried AND ironed!! and my front garden is now weed free. Hurrah.  I'm off work tomorrow for St Patrick's Day, but I'll be painting rather than drowning the shamrock!  I think I'll be glad to get back to work for a rest ;)

Bloom Beautifully

I've had my eye on these cute Tiddly Inks stamps for a while, so caved in to buy one for my Mother's Day card - thought I'd have a wee practice with it first though!
While I was shopping some new DP pads fell in to my basket too... oops ;) .... turquoise/pink/brown combo is just my favourite so I couldn't resist this one!
Fab service by the way from Bunny Zoe's Crafts ... ordered yesterday morning and playing with it today.  Now that's what I call service!

Image coloured with pencils.  Turquoise stickles added to butterflies.  Not sure if I'm going to add a sentiment or not, I quite like it just the way it is :)

High Flyin' Mouse

I've had a few days off work :) and have had Spring Clean fever!  Lots of cupboards sorted, craft stash re-found, and a start made on the weeds in the garden.  Today was lovely, there was actually a bit of warmth in the air and Ruby spent most of the afternoon out sunbathing!  (... see updated blog header!)

This card uses this cute High Flyin' Mouse from High Hopes - coloured with pencils.  Base of card chalked with clouds.

Bird on a wire

I've had this sketch from Crazy for CAS in my head for a while and I was totally stumped by it, then I thought I could maybe flip it and use clouds instead of the semi-circles.  Wish I'd judged my sentiment a bit better though, it's a bit high to my twine. I need to get a good mixed sentiment set.

Bird from The Alley Way Stamps.  Coloured with watercolours and clear gloss added to his beak.  Blue gems to finish.

Bunny Blooms

It's been a horrible dark drizzly day today, don't think it even stopped for 5 minutes.  Ah well, it makes for perfect crafting weather!  ... the ironing can wait another day or two ;)

I found this old DP in my stash, no idea why I've never used it up, it's so pretty.   My image is Bunny Blooms, an oldie from High Hopes and sentiment too.  Coloured with pencils; black stickles added to his nose and flower soft to his tail.  My sentiment panel is popped up on dimensionals.

Orange you glad...

1st of March already!  Spring's definitely on the way, the daffodils in my garden are starting to bloom and look sooo pretty, and it's great to see the brighter evenings too :)

This card is based on the photo inspiration challenge over at The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired #49 - I used the orange theme, green, blue sky, and added some bling for the little fairy lights.
Clear gloss added to the car windows, and orange stickles to the hub caps.  I layered up my grass but don't think it really shows up in my pic.
