Watercoloured Fun

This card was totally inspired by the one Jennifer posted on the Simon Says Stamp blog.  Everything is watercoloured on my card - the owl, branch, star and stripy background .... though I can't help thinking that the splodge underneath my owl just looks like he's having a piddle. Hahahahaha.
Great fun, I enjoyed having a go at this card :)

Image and sentiment from Paper Smooches.  The star is a PS die cut ... I just coloured slightly inside the lines and then added the faux stitching.

My first Project Life layout

I caved in a month or two ago and treated myself to a Project Life album.
It's not as easy as I thought!  I've put a few layouts together, but I think this is the first 'finished' one, though I keep shifting and changing and adding .....  I think I'll just have to learn to leave it alone!

Any advice or tips about pocket scrpabooking is welcome, if you think this page still needs something, feel free to say :)

I've decided not to do Project Life on a weekly basis (my life isn't that interesting hahaha) so I'm going for the 'themed' version instead.
This LO is based around Ruby's pic being chosen for my friend's doggy charity calendar.
The only stamping I added was my paper pieced Paper Smooches doggy.

I thought I'd have another go at The Alley Way Stamps Be Inspired challenge, but I've had no mojo all week, and I've just noticed I've missed the closing date :(

I paperpieced my wee birdie, and then added another layer for his beak (or should that be 'her' beak?!) and added lots of glitter.   Taylored Expressions tag die cut popped up on dimensionals.  Woodware flower punch.

Thanks for the get well wishes, I'm still coughing and spluttering a bit, but much better than at the start of the week :)

I've used one of my favourite images from the latest release ... Lucy's Lambs - coloured with pencils.

Sorry I've been AWOL for the past week ... been busy and then took a stinkin head cold which put me out of action for a few days :(

High Hopes Sketch challenge

Our new challenge this week at High Hopes is a fab sketch
Play along with your High Hopes stamps for the chance to win a new one of your choice :)

Firstly, let me apologise for the rubbish photo of my card ... one of these days I'm gonna splash the cash on a new camera and my images will be splodge free!  I also had 'issues' with photographing the 'black' circles which are actually little shiney silver card candy.

I had a real 'Doh!' moment when I went to photograph my card .... and I realised that my sentiment said 'Wishing you a turtally awesome birthday".  Hang on a minute, that's a frog, not a turtle.  Aarrrrgh!  So after a bit of tearing and ripping, this was the only sentiment I could find that was the right shape to cover up the damage!  But sure, nobody will ever know, and I'm not gonna tell them ;)

My image is Froggy Posey - coloured with pencils and paper pieced flower.  I've also used a wee Fly from the latest release and paperpieced him too, and then added some sparkle to the wings.

Other challenges:
Top Tip Tuesday - paper piecing
Simon Says Stamp Monday - winged things

Easter Bunny

Another busy day for me, bit too chilly to be out in the garden long, but at least I managed to get my begonias potted up and a wee bit of planting done.  Ah well, I needed the afternoon for the last minute dash for Easter cards ... disorganised as usual!  I made several variations of this card today, hopefully get them in the post tomorrow :)

I used my favourite Paper Smooches mad bunny as he needs virtually no colouring so nice and quick to produce - all he needed was his ears coloured and some clear gloss to his eyes and teeth.  Gold peel off sentiment.  CC Designs flower die.  Dienamics photo die.

Easter Chickie

Phew, that was one busy day! A beautiful breezy sunny afternoon - got loads of washing out on the line and managed to get my veggie patch weeded and dug over ready for planting :)

This was just a wee quickie card ... made using a few different Paper Smooches sets.  Coloured with pencils and chick popped up on dimensionals.  I drew in some longer eyelashes just to make her even more purrdy!!  Also some orange glitter to their beaks and black enamel dots to their eyes.

Whoot Whoot

This is a leaving card for a friend in work ... she's heading off for a new job in York University, thus the owl!  ('The Plum' is a nickname for her home town in case you're wondering!)

I used lots of Paper Smooches goodies on this card ... the Hooties owl set, alpha set and the wee arrow die too.  Coloured with promarkers and stickles added to the owl's beak and feet.
Owl popped up on dimensionals, also the green cloud.
Dienamics cloud die; Taylored Expressions scalloped border die; not sure of make of corner punch.

HippedyHoppedy

Our new challenge at High Hopes is
Anything that Hops
... so get out your High Hopes bunnies, frogs, kangaroo, or anything else that hops, and play along to win a new stamp of your choice.

My card uses Bunny with Gift and Happy Easter sentiment, both from High Hopes
I had originally planned to have a white bunny, but I was half paying attention to what I was doing, and half watching telly .... and proceeded to colour my bunny's arm yellow!  Doh.  But hurrah for using pencils to colour!

Flower soft added to the bunny's tail and bit on his chest.  Black enamel added to his nose, and clear gloss to his teeth.

Baby Bear

Wow, Sunday evenings come round way too quick, weekend time definitely goes quicker than weekdays!!
I nearly got  this photographed in daylight, it's great to see the stretch in the evenings :)   My colours haven't shown up right though, the strips to the side are more pinky than red looking here.

I've hardly any baby cards in my stash, so you may be seeing more of these!  My wee bear is a Penny Black stamp, and the sentiment from The Alley Way Stamps.  Coloured with pencils.  Taylored Expressions heart die - I used the little hearts from the centre of my die cut as mini embellishments, and then added tiny gems to the centres.

Layout from Sketch n' dies #4 (though I've just noticed my central panel shouldn't have went all the way to the bottom Doh!)
