Doggy Hugs

Ahhh, Saturday night again!  Our snow is finally away, 'orrible slushy rubbish snow it was, and now we've got rain instead.  The ground is totally sodden. But my daffodils must know that the season's are pressing on, and they're sprouting up now, so Spring must be on its way!

By the way, if you hopped along this week with High Hopes / Ribbon Carousel the lucky winners are now up on High Hopes blog.

I came across a new challenge blog Muse challenge #01 - I was inspired by the general layout of Amy's card, with patterened DP down the sides and the focal point highlighted on plain card.  (Aargh, just noticed I'm too late for the deadline to enter)

High Hopes and Ribbon Carousel Blog Hop

Today the High Hopes Dream Team are pairing up with Ribbon Carousel for a fun Blog Hop.
Each of the High Hopes DT have used some ribbon from Ribbon Carousel while the Ribbon Carousel DT have each used an image from High Hopes. As you hop along each of the blogs, be sure to leave a comment because there is candy from both Ribbon Carousel and High Hopes!

The blog hop runs through 11:59pm EST Friday, January 25th.
The winners will be posted on the High Hopes Blog and Ribbon Carousel Blogs on Saturday, January 26th.
(You'll find the list of the DT blogs participating in the linky list below - You should have arrived to my blog from Lacey, so you're off to Michele L next!)

So naturally our challenge this week at High Hopes is to use ribbon!  Get your High Hopes stamps out ... you've a week to play along!

My card uses Elle and Elmer and Showers of Love sentiment from High Hopes, and beautiful pink cotton ribbon from Ribbon Carousel.

Xmas Card #01

Yip, I'm determined to be ahead of myself this Christmas!
I knew I had this stamp in my stash, I turned the house upside down looking for it a couple of months ago, and of course just put my hand on it today!

This card was inspired by this week's featured stamper at Splitcoast ... here's Angela's original.
Image from Sugar Nellie - coloured with promarkers and touches of glitter added to their noses and buttons.  Image and DP panels popped up on dimensionals.  Paper Smooches sentiment.

Sympathy Butterfly

Well we've still got snow, though its the rubbish snow that falls as wee balls, and it's also thawing almost as quick as it lands, so there's lots of yeuchy slush about.  Ah well, it makes for perfect crafting weather! :)

Its been a while since I played in the 10 minute craft challenge, this one took 7 minutes and 49 secs.  The most time consuming bits were decoupaging my butterfly and popping the central panel up on dimensionals.
Butterfly and square from Stamps by Judith - outside border is hand drawn.  Paper Smooches sentiment.

Totally Gorjuss #167 - KISS

Marlene's Birthday Card

This card is for a friend of my Mum's.  She's a great one for going shopping and stopping for coffee, so I hope she likes the image!
Coloured with promarkers.
My big silver 'M' was from a pack of embellies that I  got aaaages ago and keep forgetting about!
Gorgeous DP was a gift from Taylored Expressions for taking part in last year's calendar challenge.

Washi Chick

Well we got our snow ... the weather men had been sooooo excited about it, and I think we got maybe 2 inches!  It was blowing a blizzard last night, and then this morning the snow was all slushy and wet ... so still no snowman here LOL!  I see it's snowing again, so maybe tomorrow :)

Simon Says Stamp challenge this week is to use washi tape.  I bought some just recently but hadn't got round to using it, so this was the perfect excuse.  Not sure of the make of this oldie stamp, possibly Whipper Snapper - added clear gloss to the red bits.  Silver peel off sentiment and old circles embossing folder.

Layout inspired by MFT Wednesday Sketch Club MFTWSC107 - I found this a really challenging sketch, and my first effort is now in my scraps pile!

Hoppy Birthday

Boo hoo, still no sign of snow here, though they seem to be getting plenty in England.  Though my feet are like 2 slabs of ice, my 'hot water' bottle is dinging in the microwave as we speak!

My mojo was in full swing this evening and I love how this card turned out!  Bunny and sentiment/alpha from Paper Smooches and banner from Practising Creativity.  Banner embossed with Swiss Dots folder.

Friendship Blues

Oh Brrrrrr it's such a chilly day today, a wee touch of sleety snow this morning but no sign of the proper stuff yet.  I'm busting to get making a snowman! (... yes, I was 6 years old last birthday LOL)

This card took me aaages to make, I'd bits on and bits off and still don't know if I'm happy with it or not.  I kinda wish I hadn't punched the wee red leaves.
The image is an old Gorjuss Girl from Sugar Nellie, but I gave her a wee smiley mouth from one of the Paper Smooches snowdudes sets.  Sentiment also from Paper Smooches.
Gorgeous new DP from My Minds Eye.

Indian Hello!

Just a quickie post from me ... movie night here again.  Tonight it's Snow White and the Huntsman ... my choice, so it'll be my fault if its crap!

(By the way, if you haven't been on the High Hopes Hop yet, you've only got until tomorrow evening to get the chance to win some candy)

I haven't played in the Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge for a while, so thought I'd get out this neglected set.  I took the main colours from the pic ... kraft, black and a touch of red and also the circle theme.  Actually it was a bit of an excuse to get using my new trendy tape! :)

High Hopes Challenge #160

Time for a new challenge over at High Hopes, and this week we'd like to see some stitching.  Real or faux, it's up to you, just make sure you use a High Hopes stamp on your card.  Unfortunately my sewing machine kicked the bucket a while back and I haven't got round to replacing it, so I've just done a wee bit of hand stitching on my card.
Do you like my chef?  This is another of the new release stamps from High Hopes .... Chef Pierre!  Some of these new 'Senior Moment's stamps are on show over on the High Hopes blog, and there'll be a hop tomorrow with candy to be won!

I've coloured him with copics, added some sparkle to the veg (well it probably wouldn't be the first time I'd glitter in my dinner LOL) and popped him up on dimensionals.

Other Challenges:

Cards 4 Men #1 - men at work

Sneaky Peek of High Hopes New Release

It's time to give you a peek of High Hopes new release stamps .... so here's introducing 'Toucan Twosome'!

I must confess that I'd no idea what colour a Toucan was, but thanks to Google, the general idea seems to be that they have back feathers and their beaks come in a multitude of colours ... so just match them to your DP LOL!

I thought this image would be perfect for a Valentine or Anniversary card.  I've also used some lovely ribbon from Ribbon Carousel ... they've a sale on at the minute but you'd need to be quick as it ends on 8 Jan.

Wanna see some more of the new release? ... pop over to High Hopes blog to see some fabulous creations from the High Hopes Dream Team!  Today is the first day of the Sneak Peeks for the new release.
We actually have 2 releases happening at the same time.

Today the team is showcasing some of the designs from the "Two by Two" release.
This release is filled with fun images feature Noah and animal pairs. They can be used in conjunction with each other, for baby cards, or use the pairs for a fun Valentine's Day cards!

Tomorrow, we will be back with the other release images and the new challenge.

Hi folks, I know I've been off the radar for a while, its been a very busy Christmas and New Year, and I've also been spring cleaning and painting my kitchen (and recovering from my New Year's celebrations)!  But back to work on Monday BooHoo so hopefully normal service will resume.  We've also a new release from High Hopes coming your way soon ... sneaky peaks will begin on Monday!

This card uses an old Sugar Nellie stamp - coloured with copics and flower soft added to her pompoms.  My fancy corner die is from Simon Says Stamp and the postmark sentiment stamp is from Lili of the Valley.
